Continuous screening of CODIFIED ABSENCE - a sound/video poem by Katarina & Vince Damiani

Showing as part of 48 Hours Neukölln (@48studennk) in our back room, this sound-video installation by Katarina Gotic (@katarina.gotic) and Vince Damiani excavates the language of border control. Composed entirely from text found in and erased from the Schengen Borders Code, ‘codified absence’ draws attention to patterns, repetitions, and silences hidden within the legal text. Meaning gathers in what remains. Erasure is presented as a kind of digging.

Featuring a specially curated shelf on the festival theme, ‘OUT/SIDE/IN’, which brings together books and zines about borders, belonging, and the in-between.
